Overseas bursary

Bursary: Up to 5 bursaries will be available per year - covering the registration fee plus a contribution of £500 towards travel and hotel costs

Open to: Current RSM Paediatrics & Child Health Section members of all grades, including consultants and resident doctors.

These bursaries are designed to enable Paediatric Consultants and Resident Doctors to attend an overseas meeting.

Applicants should complete the submission form - detailing:

• a brief description of the overseas conference they wish to attend- including title, dates and venue
• a brief summary of no more than 500 words outlining why they wish to attend the conference and how will it benefit the work of their clinical teams
• the conferences attended (both national and international) in the past 5 years

Priority will be given to Paediatric Consultants in clinical practices who have not attended an overseas meeting in the past 5 years.

In the event that an applicant is awarded a travel bursary by another organisation the applicant must withdraw their application to the RSM.

Successful applicants will receive the bursary funds after returning from the conference and submitting a report outlining their experience, how attendance will influence their clinical practice and how they have shared their learning with their clinical teams. Winners may also be invited to present conference highlights at a relevant Section meeting.
